Attention all FFC Members!

Are you working on a conservation film?

Are you based in Asia or Latin America?

Then maybe this is for YOU…

THE FFC GLOBAL FILMMAKER FUND - Supporting Wildlife Filmmakers Worldwide

The purpose of the FFC Fund is to grant finishing money to filmmakers producing documentary films about highly endangered species or ecosystems worldwide. FFC will grant the filmmaker $10,000 to $15,000 dollars (in cash and in-kind services) to be used to realize a film which is already in progress. In addition, an award winning pool of FFC members will also provide guidance on production and post-production, as well as on marketing and distribution of the film. In turn, FFC will be considered a co-production partner and may request to retain the right to screen the film at various venues and to receive appropriate acknowledgments and/or credits.

The goal of FFC is to raise $75,000-$100,000 per year in order to offer the FFC Fund to one filmmaker per continent: Africa, Asia, Australia/Pacific, North America, South America, and Europe. As this is a new initiative, our modest goal in 2005 is to raise enough money to sponsor one or two films in one region of the globe: Asia and/or Latin America.

In summary, the FFC Fund will provide filmmakers with:
- $10-$15 K in finishing funds and in-kind services (free camera use, post production, sound mixing, graphics, etc)
- guidance during the production and post production process
- distribution and marketing tips and advice

Eligibility Requirements:
- Qualifying films must be well defined and must already be works-in-progress, preferably in the post production stage. All qualifying films must be completed within a year of FFC funding.
- Filmmaker needs to be from qualifying continent (this may vary from year to year)
- The FFC encourages these films to be 'passion projects'. The filmmaker should not have a distribution outlet or commissioning broadcaster behind them at the time of selection, instead their film should be funded independently.
- It is preferable if filmmaker plans to use the film in conjunction with environmental campaign and community outreach.
- First-time and amateur filmmakers are encouraged to apply.
