Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival-2009, Pune (Environment / Wildlife / Energy / Air / Water) by Club Vasundhara

‘Club Vasundhara’ is organizing. ‘Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival’, at Pune & major cities of Maharashtra. Last year’s festival at Pune had grand response. This year, we are planning to organize festival on wider scale. We are expecting over whelming response from film fans, experts, youngsters, filmmakers, corporate world & media also! Vasundhara is the only festival, which combines allied activities & films of international standards. This Festival is being organized in association with Pune University (Celebrating it’s Diamond Jubilee) and Pune Municipal Corporation. Details of the festival are as follows:

 

Concept:

‘Vasundhara’ will be an innovative attempt to explore nature & analyze topical issues relating to environment, wildlife, energy, air & water. It presents an opportunity to evolve common platform to work towards providing effective & meaningful communication material for preserving our great natural heritage for the coming generations.

The message of the festival is to protect ‘Vasundhara’ (i.e Earth) & leave a better world for the generations to come.

 

Festival Period

Pune (22nd to 29th Mar 09) Venue – Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium Campus, Kothrud, Pune – 411038 Maharashtra, (India)

 

Highlights of the festival:

 

Films

This year we are planning to screen more than 100 films. These are award winning and / or have been acclaimed nationally & internationally. Last year 'films from ‘Wild Screen’, ‘BBC, ‘British Council’, ‘Discovery Channel & other prominent film makers was part of the festival. This year our aim is to involve more National-International organizations & film makers.

Competition

We are introducing competitive section for the first time. There will be ‘All India call for entries’ of short films up to 30 mins. 3 member jury panel will decide the best 3 short films. First 10 film makers will be awarded with trophy & cash prizes. Best 25 films will be screened during the festival.

Retrospective

Retrospective of one Indian & one foreign film director is highlight of the festival.
