FFC is the global conservation organisation and charity
for the film and television industry.
Essential to the success of FFC is the diversity of its members and
supporters. To be truly effective our organisation needs support and
input from the entire film, television, conservation community and
all interested parties. We aim to:
new
audiences to actively participate and support conservation.
Our
current initiatives are:
FFC
Filmmakers Evening
Meet the worlds top wildlife filmmakers as they spend an evening
with you, showing their award-winning films and discussing the many
issues they faced along the way. We have had events in Bristol,
UK; New York and Washington. Not only are we looking at continuing
these events but also expanding the number of places where films
will be shown.
Our
Research Programme
Initial work has been done to see whether wildlife films can make
any difference to conservation. A number of students around the
world are studying this exciting area. We can provide an online
bibliography for members upon request.
FFC
Membership network
Beyond all the formal programmes and projects FFC is setting up,
the network between members is proving to be of great benefit bringing
like minded people together, forming new professional relationships
and stimulating new productions. In the UK we have had an informal
meeting with members to look at new and exciting ways that we can
move forward.
FFC
Wildlife Image Bank
A wonderful opportunity to advertise the footage that you have filmed.
FFC provides a space for members to list the footage that they have
so that other members - broadcasters/producers/directors - can search
for scenes that they are looking for.
Ethical
Guidelines
Our members work to ethical standards and guidelines which ensure
that the animals and environment we work with are respected and
unharmed.
FFC
Conservation Filmmaker Award
Some films have made a major contribution to conservation, this
award celebrates, acknowledges and demonstrates that individuals
working in film/television can make a difference.
FFC
Fund
This fund is to be awarded to help in the post production costs
for a new filmmaker.
